Par-tay

This Saturday (Aug. 15) would have been Julia's 97th. She's still around, as far as I'm concerned. In her honor, the menu for our Gourmet Luncheon on Tuesday and Thursday is totally composed from Julia's recipes: one from the interwebs (it's a series of tubes), but most from Mastering the Art of French Cooking vol. I and The French Chef Cookbook. If you are not attending the parties, then I feel sorry for you. But to make you feel better, here is the recipe for Julia's favorite cocktail:

The Upside-Down Martini

5 parts Noilly Prat (French Vermouth)
1 part gin

Put ice in a wine or martini glass. Fill with Noilly Prat
and top with gin. Garnish with a lemon twist.

It's delicious and very refreshing on a summer day/night.
Bon Appetit.
