More Than a Dream

Yesterday on NPR, Tavis Smiley and his guests talked about Dr. King's pilgrimage to India (in about 1960) to experience the place and a connection with another giant of peace, Mahatma Gandhi. While there, Dr. King visited the dwelling (I think in Bombay) that had been Gandhi's. It was simple and meager with just a mat on the floor. Dr. King asked and was granted permission to stay the night in the place where Gandhi slept, knowing there was no food or facilities to accommodate him.. He was so moved by the experience that he emerged from the room at 10:00 the next morning and reportedly said he felt he could now go back to America and ask the people to demand peaceful change.

I wonder how much more this man could have done for the world.
