Stuff They Do Very Well in France :: 2

I will tell you the thing that France does better than anyone ... Dairy. and specifically

Butter

The dairy products from Normandy have to be the most delicious in the world! and the butter is the not so secret ingredient in everything the French chef makes. Croissants, chocolate, cakes and tarts, all forms of dessert, and... sauces. While I found the meat in France did not compare to that in America, they have a way of fixing everything with a delectable sauce that starts with butter.
It comes from these beauties. The breed, the grass, the air ??? Who knows, not I. But if angels from heaven do walk the earth, this is what they look like.

Other dairy products, like fromage, do pretty well here too! And the best yogurt ever!

Here is a great thing to share with you: David Lebovitz is a renowned pastry chef and cookbook writer living in Paris. He also has a blog and is very generous with his recipes. Here is his recipe for Le Chocolat Chaud that will make you feel like you were in Paris too, when you drink it:
Except for the yogurt photo, all the pictures in this post were yanked off the w.w.w.
